UPDATE: Peach County Sheriff Identifies Body Found Near Train Track

BYRON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Peach County Deputies are investigating the death of a man found on the railroad tracks early this morning. They’ve identified the body as 31 year old Guy Campbell of Byron.

The Peach County Sherriff’s Office responded to the call from Norfolk Southern that a man was lying on the tracks just south of Byron. The call came in around 6am.

Campbell was already dead when deputies arrived on the scene. Sheriff Terry Deese says he was struck by a train, but they couldn’t determine if Campbell was dead or alive when he was hit.
