UPDATE: Names released in Crawford County shooting

ROBERTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the victim and suspect involved in a shooting Saturday, August 17.

According to a news release, deputies received a call around 8:05 p.m. about a person being shot on Sandy Point Road.

When authorities arrived to the scene, they found 30-year-old Joshua Morgan Cherry with a gunshot wound to his left shoulder.

Deputies are looking for 29-year-old Anthony Edward Ranier Jr. who has been identified as the shooter.

This incident is still under investigation.
