UPDATE: Monroe County crossing guard hit, driver says he didn’t see her
The crossing guard was taken to a Macon hospital to be monitored.

UPDATE (12:10 P.M.)
A crossing guard was hit Wednesday morning by a car outside of T.G. Scott Elementary School according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. It happened at roughly 7:31 a.m. on Thornton Road.
A truck driving down Thornton road hit the crossing guard on her left side. The driver told the sheriff’s office that the sun was directly in his eyes and he didn’t see the crossing guard until he hit her.
The crossing guard did not sustain life-threatening injuries. She is still being evaluated at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon.

MONROE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A crossing guard was struck by a car Wednesday morning outside of T.G. Scott Elementary School, according to Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Public Information Officer Anna Watkins says the crossing guard does not appear to be seriously injured.
The victim was taken to Atrium Health Navicent in Macon to be monitored.
