UPDATE: Missing 86-year-old woman found safe in Macon

UPDATE (6/26/2025) According to a news release, Nettie Harris has been located and is safe. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has been returned to her family.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing elderly woman. According to investigators, 86-year-old Nettie Harris was last seen around 10:50 p.m. Wednesday night at Macon Rehabilitation & Healthcare, located at 505 Coliseum Drive. She was reported missing to authorities shortly before 12:47 a.m. Deputies say Harris exited the facility through a back door and walked away on foot. Staff and law enforcement searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate her.
Harris is described as a Black woman with grey hair. She is approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs around 117 pounds. She was last seen wearing a white shirt with “Graduation 2021” printed on it, light brown pants, and purple Crocs. Officials say Harris suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.
