UPDATE: Man who died after falling from his bike in south Macon identified

When arriving on scene, deputies say they found the man lying near a bicycle at the rear of a home.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man is dead after falling off his bike Thursday afternoon in south Macon.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says it received a call around 3:15 p.m. about an unresponsive man within the 3300 block of Pio Nono Circle.

When arriving on scene, deputies say they found the man lying near a bicycle at the rear of a home.

Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones pronounced 54-year-old Lorenzo Veal dead on scene.

According to investigators, Veal was riding his bicycle downhill when he fell down an embankment.
