Police announced the victim’s death Tuesday afternoon. Lt. Phillip Vinson has secured an additional arrest warrant for Daquavious Omarion Napier for malice murder.

The victim’s identity hasn’t been released. The investigation remains active and ongoing.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A man is in critical condition and a suspect is facing multiple charges following a shooting at a Milledgeville convenience store Monday night.

According to a news release from the Milledgeville Police Department, officers responded to reports of shots fired at CC Food Mart, located at 1212 North Jefferson Street, around 11 p.m. Police say officers arrived  and found a male victim lying in the parking lot next to a vehicle with a gunshot wound. Officers provided aid until the Milledgeville Fire Department and EMS arrived. The victim was taken to a Macon hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Detectives identified Daquavious Omarion Napier as the alleged shooter during their investigation. Police say Napier was located and taken into custody without incident around 5 a.m. Tuesday. Napier is charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, five counts of aggravated assault, participation in street gang activity, terroristic threats and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Police say the investigation remains active and additional people are expected to be arrested in connection with the shooting. Additional charges could also be filed.
