UPDATE: Man Arrested for High Speed Chase that Caused 3-Car Collision
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A high speed chase on I-75 starting in Lamar County ended in a three car collision in front of the Houston County Galleria Mall.
Monroe County deputies arrested Jeremy Deonte Haugabook. A Lamar County deputy tried to stop Haugabook, but he refused and sped off.
Bibb deputies tried to stop Haugabook’s car with stop sticks, but that didn’t work. The suspect got off the interstate at 247 and headed east onto Watson Boulevard. The chase got up to 120 miles per hour. By the time the suspect got to Warner Robins, deputies stopped chasing him for fear of injuring other drivers.
Deputies say Haugabook ran several red lights and hit two vehicles on Watson Boulevard.
Officers chased him on foot and found him hiding in a Goodwill donation trailer.
The victims of the accident were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Haugabook is charged with possession of marijuana and suspected cocaine, fleeing and attempting to elude, driving on a suspended license, speeding 120+ in a 65mph zone, passing in the emergency lane, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and driving on a suspended license.
