UPDATE: Macon Boy Hit by Car Suffers Injuries

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 12-year-old boy is recovering after he was struck by a car in north Macon.

Emergency crews were on the scene Tuesday afternoon off of Pierce Avenue near the intersection of Old Holton Road. A relative tells 41NBC the child suffered ankle injuries after he was hit by a vehicle. Angelique Talley lives in Bowman Creek Apartments and came outside after she heard screams.

“Everyone was standing around,” Talley said, “he was just laying in the road.”

When she walked up, Talley said she saw lots of blood and a bone sticking out of the child’s ankle. Immediately, she called 911.

“Like I started feeling emotional,” Talley said, “because I had little nieces and nephew out here so I was wondering like it could’ve been them or something.”

Relatives say the child is conscious is expected to have a full recovery. He is a student at Miller Middle School.
