UPDATE: Homicide suspect in Warner Robins shooting surrenders

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man wanted by police turn himself in to authorities Tuesday.

Cheikh “Chucky” Howard Gwingue suspected of gunning down 20-year-old Jarvis Keondre Rouse, walked into a New York City Police precinct in Harlem and surrendered, around 7 a.m., according to Houston County Sheriff’s Capt. Jon Holland.

Rouse was shot and killed at a party Friday night in Warner Robins.

Authorities say their investigation led them to Gwingue, 20, who allegedly fired a round from a handgun at the Carter Circle party. He is accused of shooting Rouse in the head.

An arrest warrant was issued for Gwingue, but deputies believed at the time he was out of the Houston County area. 

Investigators also arrested and charged Brandon Ra’Shoud Howard with one count of hindering apprehension or punishment of a criminal. 

Howard is being held in the Houston County Detention Center without bond.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – GBI and Houston County Sheriff’s investigators spent Saturday collecting evidence from a Warner Robins home, where a man was killed during a Friday night party.

  Jarvis Keondre Rouse, 20, of Warner Robins died of a single gun shot wound at 152 Carter Circle in around 1 a.m. according to Houston County Sheriff’s Capt. Jon Holland, who would not reveal where the bullet struck Rouse.

  “The victim had an argument or some type of confrontation with someone that resulted in him being shot and killed,” said Holland.

  Witnesses said there were more than 100 people at the party, where alcohol was served. Investigators believed the gunman acted alone.

  Rouse was an invited guest at the Carter Circle residence but did not live there, said Holland.
  Investigators interviewed nearly 15 witnesses, Saturday.

  “There is no indication the victim had any involvement in a gang,” said Holland.

  Rouse’s body was taken to the Medical Center of Houston County morgue. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
