UPDATE: Divers Search Creek In Relation to Murder of Macon Woman
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon-Bibb County Rescue Dive Team is searching a part of the Echecone Creek on Thursday.
Divers are searching near the Bibb County and Houston County line off Houston Road. Melanie Hofmann with the Macon Police Department says this dive is related to the Gail Spencer murder. She would say what they were looking for or how long they will be out there.
A fourth person has now been arrested and charged in the murder of 58-year-old Gail Spencer.
According to a news release, 23-year-old Keith Anthony Dozier was arrested this morning just before 12:30.
According to records, three people were arrested and charged with suffocating a Macon woman in her home.
Michael Brett Kelly, Tracy Michelle Jones and Courtney Nicole Kelly have all been arrested and charged with murder in the death of Gail Spencer. According to arrest warrants, Spencer’s cause of death was the result of “suffocating at her home on Stinsonville Road”.
According to attorney Calder Pinkston, the victim and Tracy Jones worked together at his law office. Pinkston would not confirm how long.
Spencer, 58 lived on Stinsonville Road near and Bel Meade Place in north Macon. Her body was found on Saturday when police responded to a welfare call at her home. Chief Mike Burns said at the time the home was secure and her car, a silver 2004 Acura Integra TS, was missing.
Tuesday, Macon Police found a car matching at Porterfield Baptist Church, Macon Police Sergeant Melanie Hoffman confirmed the car is Spencer’s. The car has been taken to the MPD crime lab for processing.
Burns said there were no visible signs of injury and Spencer’s death was a possible suicide. On Tuesday, Spencer’s autopsy came back and MPD ruled her death a homicide.
41 NBC talked with neighbors who described Spencer as a kind person, who loved animals and was devoted to work. No word on the Kelly’s relationship or motive.
