UPDATE: Deputies Identify Body Found Off Treanor Drive in Baldwin County

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Baldwin County investigators have confirmed the identity of a body found on the side of the road in Milledgeville.

According to Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Captain Brad King, a resident was leaving her neighborhood when she spotted the body in a ditch off of Treanor Drive near the Oconee River.

The victim is identified as a black male in his 20’s or 30’s from Newton County. He was shot twice in the chest. Baldwin County Sheriff Bill Massee believes the shooting happened somewhere else and then the body was later dumped in Baldwin County.

No word yet on the motive but Massee said they are treating the case as a robbery that’s possibly drug related. Baldwin County investigators are currently working in Newton County to learn more about the victim and exactly how he ended up on Treanor Drive.
