Forsyth police confirmed one person died after a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on I-75 south.

In a news release, police said the crash, which happened around 6 a.m., resulted in multiple injuries.

Police say Georgia State Patrol is assisting in the investigation. We’ve reached out to GSP for additional information.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A crash on I-75 southbound before I-475/Exit 177 is causing delays this morning in Monroe County. According to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), two left lanes are currently blocked as emergency responders work to clear the scene.

GDOT strongly encourages motorists to avoid this stretch of I-75 south and seek alternate routes until the roadway is fully reopened.

Drivers are advised to stay alert for emergency vehicles and to follow all instructions from traffic personnel on site. For real-time updates and additional information, motorists can visit the GDOT website or dial 511.
