UPDATE: 2010 Kroger Incident Report Surfaces Three Months into Investigation

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A newly surfaced police report reveals Sammie Davis Jr., the man fatally shot by a Macon Police officer outside a Kroger in December, had a run in with Macon Police at the same store in 2010.

Macon Police Officer Clayton Sutton is currently on administrative leave after he shot Davis outside of Kroger on Pio Nono Avenue in December. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is now working the case.

In the days following the incident, 41NBC requested Sammie Davis Jr.’s file through the Macon Police Department’s Central Records. At the time, officers said that Davis was not in the database.

According to officers with Central Records, this past week, an unidentified man requested the 2010 incident report using the responding officer’s name and date. The report was filed as a “demented person” incident at Kroger and because Davis’ name was not mentioned in the report until the officer’s narrative, it could not be searched.
