UPDATE: 2 Arrested for Shots Fired at School Bus Stop
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Three Bibb County Schools are under a code yellow after shots were fired at a bus stop early this morning.
According to a news release, the shots were fired on the corner of Mimosa and Sharon Drives around 6:45 as students were waiting for the bus. No one was injured in this incident.
Westside High School, Weaver Middle School, and Morgan Elementary School will be under the code yellow all day which restricts all outside activities.
Parents were notified of the incident through the District’s School Messenger system.
The Bibb County School District Campus Police is working with the Macon Police Department in the investigation.
UPDATE: Macon Police have a juvenile suspect and girlfriend in custody in reference to shots fired this morning at a school bus stop at Mimosa and Sharon Drives. According to Precinct 3 Captain, Eric Woodford, “The combined effort of our officers from precinct to precinct was instrumental in detaining the shooter from the bus stop incident this morning, along with his girlfriend. The pair was tracked for over an hour via her electronic ankle monitor.”
