Upcoming event to support parents of deceased children
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A local organization is hosting an event next month supporting parents of deceased children.
You can register now to the Mommies of Angels event happening at Occassions at Lake Joy in Perry.
Queen Up, Incorporated is one of the organizations behind the event.
The non-profit organization brings awareness to teen dating violence, domestic violence, and suicide.
The founder of the organization, Felica Williams, says there’s also support available for moms of children with disabilities and those parents who have even lost a child.
Williams says she lost a child and knows first-hand how difficult it can be to move forward while grieving.
“I know sometimes you feel like nobody is listening or nobody cares with everything that’s going on in the world, but Queen Up is here to let you know that we are here to support you,” says Williams.
She says next month’s event is not just for moms, but anybody who is looking for support after dealing with such a loss.
“It’s for parents, their support system, and loved ones because not only did we lose a child but the community did too,” says Williams.
Next month’s event is a red carpet semi-formal affair. Attendees can expect good food, messages from guest speakers, and an opportunity to mix and mingle with other people from the community.
“You’re going to feel special, you’re going to feel the love, you’re going to feel the support,” says Williams.
Tickets to the event set for December 8th can be found on EventBrite. You can register for the event by clicking here.
