U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson comments on removal of Carl Vinson VA Medical Center Director

DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An investigation in to the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center led to the removal of former Director John Goldman.

The proposal of removal came after Goldman announced his decision to retire.

41NBC reached out to U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson for his thoughts on the situation, Isakson says

“The VA needs to be holding people accountable but I don’t know if he may have actually retired and they just wanted to make it look like accountability that’s one thing, if he retired because they asked him to that’s another.”

Results from the investigation shows the VA medical center manipulated data.

Thomas Grace from the Atlanta VA Medical Center has taken over has interim director until one is chosen.
