U.S. Rep. Austin Scott visits Gray, talks border security
GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Austin Scott hit the ground today to speak with his constituents.
One stop on the list: Gray.
Scott is the U.S. Representative for District 8 in Georgia.
He stopped by the Tri-County EMC building to talk politics.
He answered questions ranging from Obamacare to the EPA.
Scott’s explanation of the border issue dominated the conversation.
“In the House, we passed a piece of legislation that would have reimbursed the states for use of the national guard to secure the border,” said Scott. “Securing the border is has and always will be the first step. Until the border is secure you can expect the flow will increase. And when you have a president that makes promises like he did, it just exacerbates the problem.”
Scott said he enjoyed talking to constituents face-to-face.
