U.s. And Iran Conflict Escalates As Strikes, Threats And Talks Unfold

(NBC)- A new overnight attack is highlighting the growing impact of the conflict with Iran on global energy markets. Officials say a Kuwaiti oil tanker was struck by a drone while docked at a port in Dubai, underscoring concerns about disruptions to supply and rising prices.

The latest developments come as Iran is accused of attempting to expand the economic impact of the war beyond the region.

New images released by United States Central Command show strikes on Iranian vehicles and aircraft, though officials did not specify when or where the attacks occurred. The military says the operations are aimed at limiting Iran’s ability to project power outside its borders.

Meanwhile, newly surfaced photos show a U.S. Air Force radar plane heavily damaged in an الإيراني strike on an air base in Saudi Arabia. Two U.S. officials say several American service members were injured in that attack.

The White House is increasing pressure on Tehran, warning of significant consequences if a deal is not reached.

“Their best move is to make a deal, or else the United States Armed Forces has capabilities beyond their wildest imagination,” said Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

Donald Trump has also threatened to target key civilian infrastructure — including power plants, oil facilities and desalination sites — if Iran does not meet U.S. demands by next week. Those demands include abandoning nuclear ambitions and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the U.S. will not allow Iran to control the vital shipping lane.

At the same time, the administration says progress is being made in backchannel talks, with Trump identifying Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf as a key figure in indirect communications.

Despite that, Iran denies any negotiations are taking place.
