Two Georgia teens killed, one injured in apartment shooting

ATLANTA, Georgia (NBC NEWS/WXIA)- A shooting at an Atlanta apartment complex left two teenagers dead and another child injured.

Police responded to the scene shortly before 1:00 am and found three juveniles: two 13-year-olds and a 12-year-old. One of the 13-year-olds was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the other two were rushed to local hospitals with injuries. The other 13-year-old also succumbed to their injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.

Atlanta Homicide Commander, Sergeant Andrew Smith, expressed the gravity of the situation: “Upon their arrival, they located three juveniles – two 13-year-olds and one 12-year-old. One of the 13-year-olds was pronounced deceased on-scene. The other two were transported to local hospitals. Obviously, any shooting is tragic, but when we have juveniles it makes it more so.”
