Two Bibb County Neighboorhoods Victims of Auto Entry Spree
Early Sunday morning, personal items were stolen from 10 cars on George Oxford Drive and Scarlet Oaks Drive. One car was stolen from a house on George Oxford Drive. A resident who slept through the noise woke up to a knock on the door from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
“We go out there and our cars are there, but our· friend’s car who we’ve been keeping since they’re stationed in Kuwait, is gone.”
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the stolen car and a majority of the items from the other nine cars were recovered by the Macon Police Department. Most of the cars that were entered in Sunday’s spree were left unlocked. Deputy Chief Mike Carswell, Macon PD, says these crimes are easy when owners leave their doors open.
“They’ll just do the little small crime like this, take what they can get out of someones vehicle that’s left unlocked.”
The Bibb County Sherriff’s Office says Macon PD has 5 suspects in custody. The incident is still under investigation. If anyone has information on any additional vehicles that were entered they are urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
