Two Baldwin Deputies Fired for Using Excessive Force

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two deputies at the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office have been fired because they used excessive force, that is according to Sheriff Bill Massee.

Massee says both incidents happened several weeks ago. Lt. Brandon Lee was responding to a call and Massee says he felt the deputy responded improperly and unprofessionally.

The other deputy, Cortez Scott, worked in the jail. Massee says he used improper force on an inmate and injured him. The GBI had to step in to investigate.

Massee says Lee worked for the sheriff’s office for nine years and Scott worked for the department for two years.

Lee was fired May 31 and Scott was fired on May 24.
