Two arrested in Reynolds after traffic stop leads to meth discovery

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two people were arrested on Wednesday for possession of meth and other charges, according to the Reynolds Police Department.
An officer conducted a traffic stop at 11 p.m. on March 26 on a vehicle with nonworking trailer lights and no tag on the trailer. The vehicle had two people inside.
While checking the IDs of the driver and passenger, officers discovered the passenger was wanted out of Thomaston. The passenger was taken into custody without incident.
According to the news release, the driver gave officers consent to search the vehicle. During the search, officers found a backpack between the two subjects containing two plastic baggies with suspected meth. Officers also discovered a digital scale and a suspected meth pipe. Both the driver and passenger were arrested and charged.
The driver was identified as 53-year-old Daniel Shipley of Alabama. The passenger was identified as 41-year-old Christa Lovegrove of Georgia.
According to the Reynolds Police Department, Shipley
and Lovegrove were charged with possession of meth, possession of drug-related objects, VGCSA, and no tag on the trailer.
