Twiggs County Seeking Ambulance Service
JEFFERSONVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Imagine waiting nearly an hour for an ambulance to transport you or your love one to the hospital. Well, that is what residents are facing in a nearby rural county.The
Medical Center of Central Georgia (MCCG) is responsible for medical service to Twiggs County. But, getting there, that could be the difference between life or death.
State Senator David Lucas met with community and business leaders recently to hear their concerns about the inadequate medical care of traveling to MCCG.
“One of the things that people have been talking to me about is why they can’t get emergency transportation centered in Twiggs County,” said Lucas.
Twiggs board of education voiced their concerns at the meeting about students who may need quick medical attention, for diabetic seizures or sever asthma attacks.
There are nearly eight thousand twiggs county residents. and they have a large population of seniors. politicians say something needs to be done as soon as possible.
