Twiggs County High School student stabbed

JEFFERSONVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A fight at Twiggs County High School resulted in a stabbing Wednesday morning.

According to GBI Special Agent, J.T. Ricketson, two girls got into an argument in the hallway and one of the girls pulled out a kitchen-style knife, stabbing the other girl. Ricketson is unsure how many times the girl was stabbed, but says it was at least once.

The victim was transported to Medical Center, Navicent Health where she is in serious but stable condition. The other girl, is in custody and is going to be treated as a juvenile because she is under 18 years old.

The Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office were the first on scene and later called the GBI. Ricketson sent three agents, who are still investigating the incident.

According to a release from the Twiggs County Board of Education, all students and staff at the school are safe.
