Tucker Road reopening Saturday

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced upcoming lane closures on I-475 as part of the Tucker Road bridge replacement project, set to begin later this week.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Tucker Road is set to reopen to traffic Saturday, April 18, according to signage posted for drivers in the area.

The reopening comes as part of an ongoing construction project ongoing construction project along the corridor.

The Georgia Department of Transportation project covers nearly half a mile of Tucker Road between Foster Road and Peake Road.

Work includes:

  • Replacement of two functionally obsolete bridges
  • One bridge over Rocky Creek
  • One bridge over Interstate 475
  • Construction of new roadway approaches

The project is designed to improve safety and modernize aging infrastructure in the area.
