Tractor Trailer overturns on Pio Nono Avenue

MACON, Georgia (41/WMGT) – An overturned tractor trailer caused the intersection of Pio Nono Ave and Guy Paine Road to close for more than three hours, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s news release.

The accident happened Saturday at 9:32 a.m., at the intersection of  Pio Nono Ave and Guy Paine Road.

The driver of the truck 55-year-old Randy Waters, of Warner Robins  told deputies he was turning left from Pio Nono Avenue onto Guy Paine Road when the load of 37,000 pounds of scrap paper shifted, causing the truck to overturn, added the release.

Waters was driving a 2005 International Tractor Truck. He was not injured, and no one else was injured during the single vehicle accident.

Traffic had to be rerouted around the accident scene.

Pio Nono Ave and Guy Paine Road reopened around 1 p.m.
