Top-Ranked Milledgeville Golfer Commits to Clemson University
MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – In front of a room full of supporters, and a smiling mom, John Milledge Academy senior, Ashlan Ramsey, signed a national letter of intent to play for Clemson University next year.
Ramsey will join her sister Taylor in South Carolina. The two girls had a dream of re-uniting on the golf course in college, and today Ashlan made that a reality.
She’s got a long resume on the green including 3 wins in nationally ranked junior and amateur events. The Milledgeville teen is the number one junior female golfer in the state of Georgia. She is also ranked 56th in the world.
“We’ve always been really close and helped each other out with our swings and kind of given each other a competitive drive. That makes us get better so I wanted to continue that in college and so does she,” says Ramsey.
Ashlan’s family and coach say what’s even more impressive than her swing, is her character. Her grandmother told 41NBC Ashlan won a tournament, and then disqualified herself for having an extra club in her bag. The Ramsey family is proud to say the tigers are adding talent, and integrity to their team.
