MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- As the first half of the GHSA State Championship game wraps up in Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Toombs County heads into the locker room with a 24-12 lead over Northeast High School.
Toombs County extended their lead just before halftime with a clutch 3-point field goal, giving them a 12-point cushion. Their offense has been efficient, capitalizing on key opportunities to keep the momentum in their favor.
Northeast found the end zone twice during the first half, scoring two touchdowns. However, both extra point attempts were unsuccessful, leaving points on the table and widening the gap between the two teams.
