Tolleson announces retirement from State Senate
In an announcement, Tolleson says he has been diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimers’ disease and will devote his attention to confronting that challenge and focusing on his family.
“Representing the people of Middle Georgia has been an honor and a privilege for which I will always be grateful,” Tolleson said in a statement. “While I may be retiring from the State Senate, I look forward to continuing to be involved in strengthening our communities and spending quality time with family and friends.”
Tolleson represents District 20, which includes all of Bleckley, Laurens, and Pulaski Counties as well as Houston County since 2003. He serves on several committees. He’s also a member of the Southeastern Energy Board.
