TitleMax employee tied up during armed robbery

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who robbed a TitleMax at gunpoint.

The armed robbery happened Saturday around 10:45 a.m, at the TitleMax located at 3597 Mercer University Drive, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s news release.

A female TitleMax employee told investigators the armed robber took an undisclosed amount of money from cash drawers.  Afterwards, he forced her in a backroom and tied her hands and feet.  The robber also took her purse, her cell phone, car keys, and her car. 

She was able to free herself and call 911 for help.  Her car was found abandoned a short time later on Westminister Drive near New Castle Drive.

The robber is described as 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs approximately 145 pounds. He was wearing dark pants, a black hoodie with an “Ecko-Unlimited” logo on the hoodie, and a baseball cap. His face was covered with light colored handkerchief or bandana. He was wearing canvas type dark boots, with his pants tucked in the boots.

No one was injured during the armed robbery.
