Tired of the rain? Too bad, it is here to stay for a while
Good evening,
The rain has made a statement across Middle Georgia this evening with Macon picking up 1.74″ so far and more rain on the way.
The rain is continuing to move in from the Gulf of Mexico, bringing pockets of very heavy rain to Georgia and the southeast. This trend of Gulf Moisture will continue through the middle of the week, before we finally get a bit of a break.
Tomorrow bring the umbrella with you as you head out because rain chances will be around all day, but it will also still be chilly as the highs are going to be topping out in the upper 50’s and lower 60’s. Several systems are interacting at the moment and as those move out, we await the next system on Wednesday.
Rain continues to train in from the Gulf through Wednesday before another cold front moves through to clear this mess out!
Of course this won’t be gone before leaving quite a bit of rain in the wake of the storms. We are expecting an additional 3-4″ of rain across the area.
The next 7 days will be a tale of 2 different weeks. Rain will last through Thursday morning, but sunshine will be back just in time for the end of the week. It will still be quite chilly with highs well below average for this time of the year.
Don’t forget that it is still hurricane season through the end of November and we are still keeping an eye on the tropics. A system is moving closer to Puerto Rico with a high chance of formation in the next 5 days. Weather never stops y’all! Keep up with 41 NBC for the latest on the tropical and local forecasts!
