Tips to organize your holiday decorations

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – We are counting down the days until Christmas and you may be getting ready to pull out all of your decorations. 41NBC’s Amanda Castro caught up with professional organizer Andi Willis to learn some tips on how store all of your ornaments and lights.

Willis says even though it may be early, now is the time to think about your storage solutions. All of the Christmas items are in stores now and won’t be there after the holidays.

Willis suggests you buy plastic tubs to store your decorations. She says they are sturdier than bags and cardboard boxes. You could also get specialized boxes for your decorations, like wreathes, your Christmas tree, ornaments, or lights.

Willis says you want to organize how your store your holiday decorations so you know where everything is located. She suggests organizing the decorations by room or by theme. She also says you could label your boxes so you know where the boxes should go.

Once the holidays are over, you will most likely find a decoration that didn’t get put away. Willis suggests having a drawer or box for you to store those items.
