Three-Year-Old in Stable Condition after Macon House Fire

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Three-year-old J’lon Williams is in stable condition, after surviving a Macon house fire that killed his three siblings.

J’lon has been at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta being treated for smoke inhalation. A spokesperson with the burn center said, J’lon is conscious and has opened his eyes.

It’s the first time J’lon has been responsive since the blaze. Early Sunday morning a fire ripped through his family’s home on James Street killing his siblings. 10-year-old Nykia Williams, 7-year-old Daija Williams and 9-year-old Jamarrian Willliams all died in the blaze.

On Tuesday, the state fire marshal officials sent an accelerant dog into the home. According to the fire marshal spokesperson, Glen Allen, the fire has been ruled accidental. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

According to Bibb County coroner Leon Jones, the results for the children’s autopsies are pending. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is performing additional lab tests to determine the exact cause of death.

The community has planned a candle light vigil for the children. The vigil will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m.
