Three wanted by Warner Robins police, caught in Monroe County

Police say the men were wanted in reference to an Aggravated Assault.

MONROE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –Three men wanted by the Warner Robins Police Department, are caught after a vehicle chase in Monroe County on Monday night.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says just before 6:00 p.m., it received notification from the WRPD that the suspects were in a Silver Kia Sportage traveling north towards Butts County on Highway 87. Police say the men were wanted in connection to an Aggravated Assault.

Deputies say they attempted to stop the driver of the Kia, but he fled. After a brief chase, deputies were able to stop the vehicle with a pit maneuver. According to deputies, the suspects then ran from the scene, but were quickly caught.

The men have been identified as Darrell Hunt of Warner Robins, Dashawn Gardner of Stone Mountain, and Ikechi Halu of Macon.

They’re currently being held without bond at the Monroe County Jail, charged with Obstruction of an Officer.  Halu faces an additional charge of Felony Fleeing.
