Three Arrested for ‘Celebratory Gunfire’ in Macon
Macon Police’s STRIKE Unit arrested three men in relation to shooting guns into the air, New Year’s Eve. STRIKE officers were patrolling a neighborhood on Bob-o-Link Drive, when they heard gunshots coming from house number 2828.
When police walked up to the house, the crowd of people who were gathered outside, ran around and inside the house.
When police entered the home, they found 13 various types of guns, including shotguns, an assault pistol, a revolver, and semi-automatic pistols. They also found a book bag with loaded assault rifle magazines. Police say several of the weapons were stolen.
Three men were arrested without incident:
31 year-old Anderson Hodges was charged with theft by receiving stolen property.
25 year-old Eric Watkins, Jr. was charged with giving a false name.
24 year-old Johntellis Montez Mathis was charged with shooting in the city and theft by receiving stolen property.
Hodges and Watkins were released on bond. Mathis remains in jail.
