Three arrested after attempted contraband drop at Washington State Prison
Deputies patrolling the Davisboro area were alerted to a possible attempted contraband drop at Washington State Prison around 11:15 p.m.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Three people were arrested after an attempted contraband drop at Washington State Prison on Tuesday, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies patrolling the Davisboro area were alerted to a possible attempted contraband drop at Washington State Prison around 11:15 p.m.
According to a news release, a deputy spotted two men trying to toss an item over the prison fence before fleeing into a nearby cornfield to the east. Another deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 24 near the prison and later identified the driver as the getaway suspect.
The Washington County and Georgia Department of Corrections K9 units searched the area and located the two suspects near a field.
20-year-old Amaris Zytrell Porter, 18-year-old Roderick Antonio Sears, and 20-year-old Darius Rashad Wimbley, all from Eatonton, were arrested.
