Third Person Dies in Monroe County Shooting

The third person injured in a MonroeCounty incident over the weekend that left two women dead, has died today.  52-year-old Walter Ronald Pruitt succumbed to the gunshot wound he received Saturday.

He was the husband of Alayna Pruitt and son-in-law to Sherry Price who were found dead in the home they shared off Highway 74.

Today, preliminary autopsy results confirm the women were killed by a single gunshot wound to the head.  Mr. Pruitt’s body is being transported to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy.

The investigation continues, but officials say it could be weeks or even months before they get the results.
