DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Dublin Fighting Irish hosted the Thomasville Bulldogs on Friday night in the quarterfinal round of the GHSA football playoffs.
The Fighting Irish are undefeated in 2024, scoring 50.4 PPG and allowing 13.1 PPG. Dublin has three shutouts and have kept opponents under 10 points seven times.
The Bulldogs had won five in a row coming into the game, scoring 35.9 PPG while allowing only 14 PPG this season. Thomasville have kept opponents under 10 points six times this season.
The last time the two teams played, Dublin won the semifinal matchup 55-45 in 2019. The Fighting Irish also knocked out Thomasville in 2019 and 2018, but the Bulldogs got the best of Dublin in the 2nd round in 2017.
Winner would play the winner of Elbert County and Toombs County next week. If Dublin wins, it would host that game.
