The Casserole Shop Bakes up Dangerously Addictive Dip
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Casserole and Bakery Shop on Forsyth Road makes life a lot easier for families on-the-go. Owner Tommy Sadler puts some of the best ingredients together so that you don’t have to take time out of your busy day.
“People think of a casserole and you think of a green bean, sweet potato, but it’s more than that – we do a poppy seed chicken, baked spaghetti, lasagnas, all kinds of dishes,” said Sadler.
All the customer has to do is heat and eat, according to Sadler.
He said, “I love to cook, I do all the cooking in our home, it’s just my life.”
Sadler has everything from cheese straws and chicken salad to baked macaroni and chicken cordon bleu to quiche and pound cake.
Regular customer Virginia Buzzell said, “I always get the chunky chicken salad and the wicked pimento cheese, then I get the Mexican casserole, the squash casserole, cheese grits – they have a lot of great things.”
Buzzell appreciates the ready to go items, especially for party planning. One of her favorites is the buffalo wing dip.
“It tastes like buffalo wings but it’s made into a casserole, it’s just awesome…I just do it with celery, or chips, you know it’s very versatile, sometimes I just eat it out of the pan,” said Buzzell.
The good thing about the way Sadler cooks, he likes to add extra to everything he makes.
Sadler makes his buffalo wing dip using sour cream, cream cheese, diced chicken breast, cheddar cheese, hot wing sauce and ranch dressing. He combines all of the ingredients and puts it in the oven.
Shay Dean added, “It’s really good and for the holidays, parties, anything like that it’s just a quick pop in the oven and ready to go.”
Sadler likes that his job helps to make lives easier.
“People will come in and buy meals for people who are going through tragedies in their lives, like a death in the family or even someone’s had a new baby just to help ease the burden of food,” said Sadler.
The Casserole and Bakery Shop is located at 4420 Forsyth Road in Macon. They’re open Monday through Friday 10-6P.M. and Saturdays 10-2P.M.
