“The Bibb Schools Supporters” Protesting Superintendent’s Spending
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A group of Bibb County parents and residents who call themselves, “The Bibb Schools Supporters,” are taking to the streets to stop the board of education from voting on the Macon Miracle.
Two of the group members, Angel Davis Hopper and Darren Latch, are calling for a peaceful protest.
They obtained a copy of the superintendents spending over the last year. The document is more than a thousand pages. They say they’re not happy with what it entails.
“There’s redacted material of unknown people coming and staying days at a time. There are items on there which financial control of the board has refused to sign off on, and there’s written instruction on those to pay anyway,” says Latch.
The protest will be held at the Georgia Music Hall of Fame building at 4pm on Wednesday, February 29th.
