Thank this cool front for cooler and dry weather today

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — After a hectic weekend, we start the week much quieter. Saturday gave us heavy rain and severe weather, while Sunday gave us much warmer than average temperatures in the upper 80s for highs. Today? Cooler and dry!

As of this writing, a cold front is moving through the state. The effects are being felt more to our north, but as the front moves farther and farther south, we’ll feel the effects more and more. The high will only manage to get up to 77 today compared to 86 yesterday. Mostly sunny skies are expected as well with increased cloud cover tomorrow.

Tomorrow, by the way, is also where we slightly increase the chance for rain. We’re looking at a wave of moisture moving through southern Georgia and northern Florida, and I won’t be surprised to see some of that get into our area. Wednesday is when we’re forecasting a higher chance for rain and storms. As far as severe weather goes, that will stay south of us tomorrow, with only a marginal chance for severe weather Wednesday.

After Wednesday, I can’t see a drop of moisture in the forecast through Sunday. Couple that with some wonderful temperatures, and we have a great end to the weekend in store for us!
