Major drug bust in Telfair County uncovers meth, fentanyl, and firearms

MCRAE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The Oconee Drug Task Force, with support from deputies in Telfair and Dodge counties, executed a search warrant near the Workmore area in Telfair County. The operation led to the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal drugs and firearms on Friday, January 24th, according to a Facebook post from Telfair County Sheriff Sim Davidson.

Recovered items included:

  • 28 grams of methamphetamine
  • 51 grams of fentanyl
  • 2 grams of heroin
  • 90 oxycodone pills
  • 5 tramadol pills
  • Several Suboxone strips

Additionally, several firearms were recovered at the residence. One individual was arrested and faces multiple charges, including:

  • Trafficking methamphetamine and fentanyl
  • Possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl, heroin, and Schedule II & IV substances
  • Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, fentanyl, heroin, and Schedule II & IV substances
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime

Sheriff Davidson said, “Taking illegal drugs and guns off the street will continue to be a top priority”.

The investigation remains open, with no further details available at this time.
