Teenager arrested in multi-county high speed chase

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Sheriff’s Office S.R.T. Unit deputies help arrest a 16-year-old after he led Peach County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a pursuit in a possibly stolen vehicle.
In a recent Facebook post by the Bibb County Sheriff’s office, it says according to a report, speeds reached more than 100 mph as the teen crossed over into Macon-Bibb County.

The report states, a Peach County deputy was struck and almost run down by the suspect as the deputy attempted to deploy spike strips in the roadway.
A Byron Police Department K-9 unit was also hit during the incident before the teen was forcibly stopped on the Sardis Church Road Extension.

The 16-year-old was taken into custody, and the deputy was taken to the hospital and sustained only minor injuries.
