(LILAMAX) – YouTube is rolling out new artificial intelligence tools to estimate whether users are under 18—based on their activity and the age of their account. Starting August 13, accounts flagged as likely belonging to minors will receive the same protections already offered to users who voluntarily declare themselves under 18.
That includes automatic restrictions on age-restricted videos and limits on recommendations for sensitive content, such as videos related to body image. The move aims to strengthen safety and parental controls across the platform.
Meanwhile, shares of identity management software firm CyberArk surged after The Wall Street Journal reported it’s in takeover discussions with cybersecurity giant Palo Alto Networks. The deal, reportedly valued at more than $20 billion, would mark Palo Alto’s largest acquisition yet. The company is currently the highest-valued player in the cybersecurity sector by market capitalization.
Spotify posted weaker-than-expected revenue guidance for the second quarter and lowered projections for the third. The streaming platform cited rising costs—including increased spending on personnel, marketing, and professional services—as the reason for the financial strain.
In response to growing concerns over students misusing ChatGPT to complete homework, OpenAI has introduced a new feature called “Study Mode.” Rather than instantly solving problems, Study Mode walks users through concepts step by step, acting more like an interactive tutor.
College students who beta-tested the tool said it helped clarify dense material and improved understanding. Study Mode is now available to Free, Plus, Pro, and Team users.
