Tech Report: The industry with the highest paying internships

The highest-paying U.S. internships are still in tech, despite the industry’s mass layoffs. More than half of the twenty-five most richly rewarding student programs are in the tech industry, according to Glassdoor. Some of the highest paid tech internships make between 7 and 9 thousand dollars a month.

Amazon shuts down the Halo division and discontinues all devices. The original Halo band was a bare-bones tracker that launched in 2020. Recently, it hasn’t been able to keep up with other fitness wearables.

Walmart is using AI to negotiate costs and purchase terms with vendors in shorter timeframe. Bloomberg says Walmart can conduct negotiations with 2,000 suppliers simultaneously using artificial intelligence.

Facebook’s parent company, Meta reported that it grew sales by 3 percent during the first three months of the year. The company turned things around after three consecutive quarters of revenue declines, far exceeding Wall Street analysts’ expectations. Meta stock jumped as much as 12 percent in after-hours trading following the report, continuing the company’s strong trajectory since Zuckerberg announced that 2023 would be a “year of efficiency.” User growth was relatively strong compared to recent quarters.
