Two U.S. senators are calling for federal safety regulators to investigate Tesla’s “Full Self-Driving” software.

(LILAMAX)- Two U.S. senators are calling for federal safety regulators to investigate Tesla’s “Full Self-Driving” software, following an NBC News investigation that revealed driver complaints. Some Tesla owners said the technology failed to detect oncoming trains at railroad crossings. The lawmakers are urging the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to launch a formal probe. The agency has already confirmed it is aware of the incidents and has raised the issue with Tesla.
Meanwhile, OpenAI is expanding the role of ChatGPT. The company has launched a new feature called “Instant Checkout” that lets U.S. users make purchases directly through the chatbot. The rollout currently includes items from Etsy sellers, with plans to expand soon to Shopify merchants such as Skims and Glossier. OpenAI will collect a transaction fee from purchases.
At the same time, AI companies are rolling out ads designed to connect emotionally with consumers. Adweek reports that OpenAI’s new ChatGPT campaign shows how the tool can be used in relatable scenarios — from cooking for a date to planning a road trip or mastering pull-ups. Rivals are also vying for attention: Anthropic is positioning Claude as a problem-solver, while Perplexity is focusing on serving the endlessly curious.
