Tech Report: Study finds high rate of Amazon warehouse injuries
A finance professor at the University of Florida, says that large AI language models may be useful when forecasting stock prices. He used ChatGPT to parse news headlines, hoping to see whether they’re good or bad for a stocks. He found that ChatGPT’s ability to predict the direction of the next day’s returns were much better than random.
Warner Bros. Discovery unveiled its new flagship streaming service called Max. It will combine programming from HBO Max and Discovery. The company’s new bundled service will launch on May 23. It will cost between $9.99 and $19.99 per month.
In 2022, Amazon warehouse workers suffered serious injuries at more than twice the rate of comparable facilities. That’s according to a report by union coalition Strategic Organizing Center. Amazon disputed the SOC’s use of the term “serious injury rate”. The company said the term could capture any injury, even a minor injury, that could lead to a change in an employee’s work. Those changes include taking time away from work, spending time working in another role, or avoiding heavy lifting after a strain.
