Tech Report: Study finds ChatGPT struggles with math

A new study finds ChatGPT struggles with math and is unlikely to replace accountants. Despite near-perfect GRE and Bar scores, the AI model sometimes struggles with basic math functions. The study, led by Brighma Young professor David Wood, found the platform often struggles to understand mathematical processes. It also found that ChatGPT often embellishes data to cover up mistakes when they occur.

Meanwhile, technology and AI are driving job changes for nearly a quarter of all workers. The report from the World Economic Forum found that technology may eliminate 26 million jobs over next five years. However, the report also says that the green transition will provide opportunities for job creation.

Scammers in search of money and credit-card information are exploiting more young people on social media. The Federal Trade Commission said online shopping is the most common type of fraud and that scams often start on social media. Reported losses from social-media fraud reached more than $1.2 billion last year, up from $42 million in 2017.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie has made it to $1 billion. It’s both the highest-grossing video game movie ever and the highest-grossing movie for the year so far.
