Tech Report: Car companies develop anti-theft software

Despite economic concerns, Airbnb reports that guests are still excited to travel. The company even reached a milestone last year, marking their first full full year of profit. Airbnb has been a major beneficiary of the work and lifestyle changes wrought by the pandemic. Remote work and tacking on extra days to vacations have given consumers more time to travel.

Hyundai and Kia have developed new software aimed at preventing an auto theft technique targeting several of their vehicles. The method was spread on TikTok and other social media, resulting in tens of thousands of thefts over the past year. Certain older, low-end models from 2011 to 2021 that used a keyed ignition without immobilizers were vulnerable.

Phygitaltwin, the sustainable web-3 design studio and e-commerce platform, launches the world’s first-ever phygital athleisure collection. The drop was celebrated with a party in Los Angeles and is now available to purchase for a limited time. This debut collection includes seven phygital and six digital-only outfits. Items such as a cropped hoodie, unisex hoodie, track pants, a gym top, high-waisted leggings, a tennis skirt and a mesh dress. Each piece comes in two colors: pink fizz or orange and blue.

iRobot, the maker of Roomba robot vacuums, cut seven percent of its workforce. This change happened amid their $1.7 billion dollar Amazon deal.
