(LILAMAX)- Apple is rolling out a new feature called Call Screening, designed to help iPhone users avoid unwanted calls.
When an unknown number dials in, the phone prompts the caller to state their name and reason for calling. That information is then transcribed and displayed on the screen. Users can respond through text, pick up, or hang up. If a scammer abandons the call, the user is never notified.
In other tech news, the U.S. government has taken a 10 percent stake in Intel worth about $9 billion. Officials say the move will strengthen domestic chip manufacturing, though critics argue the government should not intervene in private business.
Cybercrime also remains a pressing threat, with phishing schemes increasingly targeting cryptocurrency accounts. Coinbase cybersecurity expert Jeff Lunglofer advises ignoring any unsolicited calls, texts, emails, or social media messages about financial accounts, saying that simple step prevents most problems. Coinbase also provides two-factor authentication and around-the-clock fraud monitoring for its users.
Meanwhile, Tesla has raised the price of its most expensive Cybertruck by $15,000. The Cyberbeast model will now sell for nearly $115,000. The increase, first reported by Reuters, comes with Tesla’s new Luxe Package, which includes supervised full self-driving features and complimentary access to the company’s Supercharger network.
